Auto-lifter nabbed

VARANASI: The police nabbed an auto-lifter near Lakarmandi Crossing under Chetganj police station on Tuesday. The police also recovered a stolen car from the arrested person.
According to reports, on basis of suspicion, the police detained one Santosh Kumar Singh during routine checking of vehicles. It was found that the car he was driving was stolen.Santosh and his maternal uncle, Santlal Chowdhary of Rohtas, had stolen the car, owned by Himanshu Srivastava, from Hathua Market in Chetganj area three years ago. Santosh had replaced the original number of car (UP 32 CN 2099) and had been driving across UP, Bihar and MP on a fake licence number (MP 15 ZC 1141). The other accused, Santlal, is yet to be caught.
