Repeat offender arrested in Anakapalle burglary, Rs 30 lakh gold recovered
Visakhapatnam: The Anakapalle district police arrested a repeat offender involved in a house burglary at Ganthavanipalem locality under Munagapaka mandal in Anakapalle. The officers recovered around 192 gm of gold ornaments, valued at Rs 30 lakh, from the accused.Anakapalle district police chief Tuhin Sinha said the arrested has been identified as Kona Rajesh (23), a native of Anakapalle town. The investigation has revealed that Rajesh is a habitual offender, and cases against him were registered under the Anakapalle town police station limits in the past.

The burglary took place a few days ago when Rajesh broke into the locked house of K Umadevi while her family was away at a temple, escaping with nearly 200 grams of gold ornaments.The police urged people to utilise the locked-house monitoring system (LHMS) to prevent such property offences. Through LHMS, police will get an alert and pictures from the CCTV cameras installed at the house if a burglar enters it. The control centre at the police, in turn, alerts the nearest police station to prevent the burglary and nab the accused, the police said.
