Vijayawada: Commissioner (medical & health) G Veerapandian informed that the special medical camps to administer vaccines and conduct mandatory health check-ups for applicants intending to undertake the Haj pilgrimage 2026 commenced across the state on Saturday and will continue till Monday (Feb 9). In a press statement issued on Saturday, Veerapandian said that the special medical camps were set up at hospitals in Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, East Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Guntur, Sri Sathya Sai, Prakasam, Chittoor, Tirupati, Anantapur, Kurnool, Nellore, Annamayya, Kadapa, and Nandyal districts. He said vaccinations would be given only to those pilgrims who were found medically fit during the health examinations. Approximately 2,000 people from AP applied to go for Haj this year.
