Two boys drown in quarry pit

Vijayawada: Two school-going children aged below 15 years drowned in a quarry pit in Budawada village of Cheemakurthy mandal in Prakasam district on Monday when they tried to go for a swim in the pond.
The deceased -- Kinnera Pavan Kumar (14) and Suryaboyina Venkata Siva Ramakrishna (14) -- were natives of J C Agrharam village in Besthavaripet mandal.They were at their relative’s house to celebrate Sankanti holidays.
The quarry workers who noticed the two children in the pit informed the police and villagers over the incident.
Cheemakurthy police visited the spot and shifted the bodies to the government hospital for post-mortem. A case has been filed on the incident.
