Holiday for schools today in north AP

Visakhapatnam: In light of the ongoing heavy rains, almost all districts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh have declared Monday a holiday for schools and other educational institutions. Visakhapatnam district education officer L Chandrakala said that due to continuous rainfall and based on the weather forecast, along with considerations for children's safety, Monday has been declared a holiday to avoid any inconvenience for students commuting to and from school. "The holiday will be compensated, and further orders will be issued accordingly. All headmasters have been asked to follow the earlier instructions for conducting room inspections and ensure that all rooms are structurally sound," said the DEO.The rains, which began on Saturday night in north coastal AP, continued throughout Sunday. There was not even a 10-minute-break for rains in cities like Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
