Hunt for key drug peddler across India

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam police have sent their teams across India to nab the culprits involved in the rave party, which was busted in April. The accused include, besides two persons, the prime drug supplierEswar.
Speaking to TOI, city police chief Mahesh Chandra Laddha said their investigation has revealed that Eswar supplied drugs, such as LSD, MDMA and cocaine, to the people at the rave party.
“We will get more clarity on the supply chain once Eswar lands in the police net. We hope that our team will be able to nab him and the two others accused in a couple of days. Meanwhile, as we have successfully nabbed some of the other drug peddlers in the case, we have managed to cut down the supply of drugs to the city,” Laddha added.
Eswar and two others had fled the city a day after the rave party was busted and have been on the move ever since to evade arrest, according to sources. Investigations have revealed that Eswar, who is from Visakhapatnam, was present at the rave party and he had allegedly peddled high-end drugs, which he procured from Goa, Mumbai and Bengaluru. It was also found out that two drug peddlers in the case bartered local ganja for LSD blots and other substances, said police sources said.
Meanwhile, around 100 drug abusers have been identified in the city and they have been counselled against the bad habit.
“We did not arrest the drug users. But we have kept a strict surveillance and we are looking for the key drug peddler in the case, said assistant commissioner of police (CTF) Mahendra Matha.
