Fire mishap at VCTPL, no injuries reported
Visakhapatnam: A minor fire incident in Visakhapatnam Container Terminal Private Limited (VCTPL) sparked tension among the staff and public as thick smoke covered the area on Saturday. The VCTPL management responded in time, doused the fire with its fire brigade, and controlled the situation. There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the incident.It is noted that shooting of a cinema, with actor Rajanikanth playing the lead role, has been going on in the terminal for the past few days. According to information, the fire incident took place in another area and the actor was not present in VCTPL at the time of the mishap.A VCTPL staff noticed the smoke coming from a 40-foot container that contained Lithium batteries that are used in electronic vehicles, mostly four-wheelers. The management immediately isolated the container, and VPA fire tenders, VCTPL informed.
