Murali appointed India coach
City-based veteran player and founder of the Laqshya Academy MV Muralikrishna has been appointed as badminton coach of the Indian team participating in the 17th Para Olympics to be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. He was coach of the Indian team at the fourth Para Asian Games held in China.
Stage set for Duleep Trophy in Anantapur
An organising committee has been formed with Anantapur district collector Vinod Kumar as its chairman for conducting the Duleep trophy tournament in Anantapur from September 5 to 22. The grounds at the Anantapur Sports Academy are getting ready as the BCCI curator Samandhar Singh reached the city on Monday to supervise the preparations.

The court emphasized that the facility must not operate until the required licenses are procured. Following the May 25 fire incident in Rajkot, a court-imposed ban had prohibited such activities statewide.

Draft notification on green zones open to feedback: CM
The state government planned to circulate the draft notification proposing 108 Goan villages as eco-sensitive areas among panchayats and MLAs for feedback. With 40 days left to submit objections, the chief minister will urge the Union government to limit the designation to 63 villages. A previous draft identified 99 villages, but discrepancies were acknowledged.
