VELLORE: The Thiruvalluvar University on Wednesday published the results for the November-December 2017 semester examinations.
Vice-chancellor K Murugan released the results and said a total of 1,45,389 candidates -- 1,31,623 UG students, 13,616 PG students and 150 M Phil students -- from 124 colleges affiliated to the university had registered for the examinations.
Of them, 1,33,321 students appeared for the examinations.
The examination evaluation was done by duly appointed examiners in eight approved centres, including the centre on the university campus. The examination process had been automated to ensure an error-free examination process with customised OMR (optical mark recognition) used for each candidate, said a release from the university.
Of 1,31,623 students of UG courses, 48,796 students (40.46%) have cleared the exams. As many as 7,437 PG students out of 13,616 students passed the exam. It accounted for 59.12 % added the press statement.
Among them, 941 UG students and 234 PG students have secured cent percent mark in the semester exams. “We will send the results to the respective college to through mail. The students can see their result on Thursday morning,” said Controller of Examination (in-charge) B Senthil Kumar.
The candidates who wanted to re-evaluate their answer scripts can apply online with the help of the principals of their respective institutions on or before February 16.
