Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and union territories, with leads still in flux in most places. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just three short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA has a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at 55, all of them leads with no seats formally decided yet. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179 with 11 won and 168 leads. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won seats and 104 leads. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. Puducherry's 30-seat assembly requires 16 for a majority, and NDA has crossed that mark on tally, with 13 seats already won and 5 leads taking its total to 18. SPA has a tally of 5 there, with 2 won and 3 leading. In Kerala's 140-seat assembly, UDF holds a tally of 87, with 68 won and 19 leads, well past the majority mark of 71 on combined count. LDF has 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36, trailing considerably. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala.
