Veteran actress Hema Malini received the prestigious Padma Vibhushan on behalf of her late husband Dharmendra from President Droupadi Murmu. The honour, announced in January this year, was conferred posthumously on the legendary actor, who passed away in November last year, in recognition of his remarkable contribution to Indian cinema spanning over six decades.

Hema Malini wore a baby pink saree as she gracefully walked to the stage to receive the prestigious award. She appeared visibly emotional and accepted the honour with a heavy heart. Ahana who was sitting in the audience got teary eyed as she saw her mother recieving award for her late father.

Earlier, talking to Hindustan Times, Hema said, “It’s an emotional moment for me. Ahana (daughter) is with me, Esha wanted to come but could not make it here. The entire family is happy.
