Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the picture is shifting seat by seat. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, just 3 short of the majority mark, with 10 seats already decided in their favour. SPA holds a tally of 60, having won 7 and leading in 53, while NDA is at a tally of 55 with all those seats still in the leading column. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 in its combined tally, standing at 179 across 294 seats, with 11 won and 168 leads still being counted. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has won 13 of the 30 seats and leads in 5 more, giving it a tally of 18 that already crosses the majority mark of 16. SPA has a tally of 5 in the union territory, with 2 won and 3 leading. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 seats for a majority. UDF leads the count with 68 seats won and 19 more in hand, taking its tally to 87 and putting it well past the majority threshold on current trends. LDF has won 30 and leads in 6, for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala, with 13 of those already decided.
