Guwahati Central Assembly Constituency is a newly created Assembly constituency in Assam’s Kamrup Metropolitan district, formed after the 2023 delimitation exercise that reshaped the city’s electoral boundaries.
The new seat has been carved out by reorganising parts of the erstwhile Guwahati West constituency.
As part of the exercise, the old Gauhati East seat was abolished, while Guwahati West was redrawn to create three new urban constituencies, Guwahati Central, New Guwahati and Dimoria.
