Alliance tallies shift across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and the numbers are moving quickly. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively lead in enough seats to hold a tally of 115, with 10 seats already won and 105 leads in hand, leaving them just 3 short of the majority mark. SPA holds a tally of 60, with 7 won and 53 leading, while NDA is at 55, all from leads with no seats declared yet. In West Bengal, BJP has crossed the majority mark of 148 on tally, sitting at 179 across 11 won seats and 168 leads in the 294-seat house. TMC trails with a tally of 106, comprising 2 won and 104 leading seats. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA holds a tally of 18 in the 30-seat assembly, where 16 are needed for a majority, with 13 seats already won and 5 leads still in hand, putting the alliance past the majority mark on tally. SPA has a tally of 5, with 2 won and 3 leading. Kerala's 140-seat assembly requires 71 for a majority. UDF leads the count with a tally of 87, including 68 declared wins and 19 leads, comfortably past the majority mark on tally. LDF has 30 won and 6 leading for a tally of 36. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 in Kerala, with 13 seats won and 4 leads.
