‘Kacher manush’: 5 reasons why you shouldn’t miss the Dev-Prosenjit starrer

Dev and Prosenjit Chatterjee’s much-anticipated film ‘Kacher Manush’ is finally releasing in theatres. The relationship drama, directed by Pathikrit Basu, also has Ishaa Saha and Susmita Chatterjee in key roles. The film is full of life... and just like the ‘kacher manush’ always motivates and inspires one in life it will be interesting to see how it scores at the box office. So, without much ado, let’s take a look at 5 essential reasons to add ‘Kacher Manush’ to your pujo watch list.

2/6

What drives the film?

According to Prosenjit Chatterjee, ‘Kacher Manush’ can play a significant role. “Of course, it is an entertaining film... there is laughter, tears, comedy, emotions, a strong love story. Love can change someone’s life completely. Also, there is a song called Taka Lage in the film... and that is the truth. No one can deny it. One needs money to get by in life. When I saw all these elements in a film, I felt it was in the right space,” explained the seasoned actor.

A relatable story

The film follows Dev’s character who is weighed down by the demands and complications of life. Soon he meets Prosenjit’s character, an insurance agent, who gives him a plan to end his life, so that the insurance money can be used to treat his ailing mother. But things take a turn soon and Dev’s character finds meaning and purpose in life when he meets someone special (played by Ishaa Saha).

Dev-Prosenjit coming together

It’s important for superstars to come together in Bengali films and Prosenjit has always insisted to do so. After Zulfiqar, he is finally sharing the screen with Dev. “The combinations are very important for the industry. You can see that happening in films down South. Kamal Haasan has done a film like Vikram (with Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi). Then it was Chiranjeevi’s Godfather with a huge cast. There was a time when Tapas Paul and I had worked together in 20-22 successful films, and we delivered innumerable solo superhit films as well. I feel it is time now to make more films with different star combinations. it’ll also enhance the creative spark of film-making,” explains the Tollywood superstar.

5/6

Music that celebrates life

Whether it’s ‘Chumbok Mon’, ‘Taka Lage’ or ‘Mukti Dao’, every song in Kacher Manush celebrates the real essence of life, much like we celebrate it during Durga Puja all soaked in festive fervor. The music has already created quite a lot of buzz and the Mukhi Dao song from Sonu Nigam has also topped music charts. “If you hear ‘Chumbok Mon’ or ‘Taka lage’ or ‘Bemanan’ you’ll notice the genres, lyrical pattern, music and the thoughts everything is so different from the other,” added Dev.

It could be Prosenjit’s best birthday gift

‘Kacher Manush’ is releasing on September 30 which is also Prosenjit Chatterjee’s birthday. So, will this be more special for him? It’s really a special day for Prosenjit Chatterjee and it seems the release date was scheduled keeping in mind this special occasion, just like Dev shares, “If people like the film, I think that will be the best birthday gift for Bumba da. For artists like us this is the only thing that matters. So definitely we all are looking forward to making his birthday special.”
