‘Bagha Jatin’

Dev is all geared up to play the legendary freedom fighter, Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay. The biopic will be directed by filmmaker Arun Roy who gave us ‘Hiralal’. He has already started working on the script. We all know the famous story of Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay who according to history books killed a tiger with his bare hand and emerged as an important figure in India’s freedom movement against the British rulers. He was even a close associate with another iconic figure Aurobindo Ghosh. Come November, the actor-turned-politician will start shooting for 'Bagha Jatin'.

‘Kacher Manush’

The film, directed by Pathikrit Basu and starring Dev, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Ishaa Saha in the lead, revolves around Dev’s character who is weighed down by the demands and complications of life. Soon he comes across Prosenjit’s character, an insurance agent, who gives him a plan to end his life, so that the insurance money can be used to treat his ailing mother. But it changes everything when Dev’s character finds meaning and purpose in life when he meets someone special (played by Ishaa Saha). To sum up, ‘Kacher Manush’, releasing on September 30, is full of life and shows our close ones always motivate and inspire us in life.

‘Mirza’

Ankush has raised an interesting question through the teaser of his next ‘Mirza’ – ‘Dignity or Respect, which is more important to earn?’ The popular actor has already intrigued fans giving a glimpse of his larger than life character from the action flick and the teaser ever since it was released last week has received an overwhelming response. The makers have literally pumped the excitement to the next level with the action packed teaser and Ankush who is making his debut as a producer with ‘Mirza’ is also teasing fans with a series of behind the scene pictures from the film’s teaser. His look is already being compared to the fierce look of Rocky Bhai Yash from the blockbuster ‘KGF 2’ and fans are keeping fingers crossed for a thrilling action entertainer which we don’t see in Tollywood these days. The action entertainer is being directed by Sumit-Sahil and it is slated to release in theatres in Eid 2023.

‘Raghu Dakat’

After ‘Golondaaj’, this will be Dev’s second collaboration with director Dhrubo Banerjee. We all have heard about the famous Kali Puja of Hoogly district. It’s more popularly called ‘Raghu Dakater Pujo’ and according to the Bengali folklore, Raghu Dakat was worshiped as the Robin Hood of Bengal almost 200 years ago. However, Dhrubo says the story of his film is original and written by himself. As we have seen in the first-look poster, Dev’s new look as Raghu Dakat has already surprised everyone. The period piece is expected to hit the shooting floors by the end of this year and the makers are eyeing a Puja release next year.

7/8

‘Chengiz’

The upcoming action thriller, being directed by Rajesh Ganguly, is believed to be an action-packed entertainer and the plot might be related to some sort of money laundering and money mafia. Besides Jeet in the lead, the film also has Shataf Figar and Susmita Chatterjee in key roles. What’s interesting is Bollywood actor Rohit Bose Roy will play a significant role in the film. Incidentally, Shataf Figar is also a part of ‘Raavan’ playing a corrupt cop. The action entertainer is expected to release during Eid next year.

‘Titumir’

Anik Dutta’s ‘Aparajito’ made Jeetu Kamal a household name after his impressive performance as Aparajito Ray, a character inspired by the legendary Satyajit Ray. Now, the actor is gearing up for yet another epic film, Debaditya Bandyopadhyay’s ‘Titumir’. Jeetu who will be seen as the titular character in this period piece has already started growing his hair and beard to slip into Titumir’s character. Buzz is strong that this historical drama will also have Jim Sarbh as a British officer and Ashish Vidyarthi as a landlord. However, the film has been shelved for the time being and the shoot is expected to start early next year.
