Bomkesh Phire Elo: Know your cast

The cast of Anjan Dutt's Bomkesh Phire Elo reveal their on-screen characters to CT. The super-sleuth of Bengal, Bomkesh Bakshi, is back in action, and this time he is busy solving the mystery surrounding the murder of the affluent Beni Prosad. Everyone in the palatial family mansion is a suspect, as the detective employs his unique ways to sniff out the murderer in Anjan Dutt's Bomkesh Phire Elo. CT caught up with the actors of the film, who told us about their experiences working in the film and the characters they portray .Here's what they had to say...

Bomkesh Phire Elo: Know your cast

ABIR CHATTERJEE:
It's my third Bomkesh film and I can only wish three cheers for it! I hope the people who had loved me as Bomkesh will appreciate this film too. In this film Bomkesh doesn't take Ajit's help in solving the case. So, the whole responsibility is on his shoulders!

SASWATA CHATTERJEE:
This is my third Bomkesh film as Ajit, though I'll not be helping Byomkesh solve the murder. Abir is superb in this film, which, I think is Anjanda's best Bomkesh till date. Moreover, Benisanghar, the novel which was adapted for this film, is my favourite Bomkesh mystery.

CHANDAN SEN:
I play Ajoy, the eldest son of the house and a theatre enthusiast. But my father, Beni Prosad, is always up in arms against my love for theatre and one day, he gets murdered. Since we were always crossing swords, I end up being one of the prime suspects. Anjanda has done a commendable job, and I feel this will be much better than the past two Bomkesh films.

Bomkesh Phire Elo: Know your cast

KAUSHIK SEN:
For the first time, I am playing an out-an-out dark character. The audience will be surprised to see me! I play Beni Prosad's alcoholic sonin-law who is also into races and women! His mannerism and body language are sure to arouse suspicion. I feel this is Anjan Dutt's best Bomkesh film till date.

ANJANA BASU:
I play Gayitri, Beni Prosad's introvert daughter. Given her alcoholic, womanizing husband, the only bit of solace in life comes from her daughter, played by Ena Saha. She had served the last meal to Beni Prosad just ahead of his death and so, she is also a prime suspect in the murder mystery. That apart, it was a pleasure to work with Anjan Dutt, who is a super-cool director.

RAHUL:
It was a sheer delight to work with Anjan Dutt, my youth icon. Secondly, I'm a great fan of Bomkesh. I play a distant relative of Beni Prosad who is much better off than the other family members. I was asked not to shave throughout the film and my character's body language also arouses suspicion.

ANKITA:
This is my first Bomkesh film. I play Medini, a girl from Bihar who works as a cook in Ajoyda's house. She, too, becomes a suspect when the head of the house in which she works gets murdered. From body language to dialect, I had to change everything to essay this character.
