The actress was filmed while on a night out, crossing the street with her husband, filmmaker Taylor Hackford. The the video, a man filming the couple, confronted her over her Israel-Palestine views. The clip, which has been widely circulated on X, shows the unidentified man walking up to the Oscar-winner and shouting from behind the camera, "There is Helen Mirren, the avowed Zionist. You said Israel should last forever because of the Holocaust. And she was very happy that the Palestinians' houses were gone."The video shows Mirren’s husband, Hackford, telling the man to "f*** off."

About the video video

While the exact date of the recording remains unclear, The Times reported that the footage is believed to be older and was originally shared in November.As per the latest reports, the incident is now being probed as an alleged hate crime.

As far as the allegations against Mirren are concerned, the actress made certain comments while promoting her film 'Golda', in which she plays the role of former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. According to The Telegraph, Mirren had previously stated, "I believe in Israel, in the existence of Israel, and I believe Israel has to go forward into the future, for the rest of eternity. I believe in Israel because of the Holocaust."
