Mughal roots behind the iconic jewel

According to historical accounts, the diamond is believed to have been gifted by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and later passed down within the royal lineage. Jewellery historians note that Shah Jahan is also said to have presented the piece to his wife Mumtaz, further strengthening its emotional and cultural value.

Owing to its deep association with the Mughal dynasty, the jewel came to be known as the Taj Mahal Diamond. In 1971, French luxury house Cartier acquired the diamond and redesigned it, embellishing the piece with table-cut diamonds and rich red gemstones.

About ‘Wuthering Heights’

Robbie’s latest project, ‘Wuthering Heights’, has already sparked conversation online due to its steamy trailer, moody Charli xcx soundtrack, and debates around period-accurate costuming. The film also stars Jacob Elordi, who had earlier revealed that he was considering a break from acting before coming on board the project.

Directed by Emerald Fennell, the film marks her third feature-length adaptation and is slated for release on 13 February 2026.
