Kanye West and his 5 fashion statements that sparked debate across social media

Kanye West, the controversial rapper, has been charting the headlines for getting backlash - again. In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, he wore a Ku Klux Klan (KKK) hood and a Swastika Necklace. Previously this year, West made anti-Semitic posts, and identified himself as a Nazi.

Not only has he been called out for racist posts, but he recently faced backlash for stating that he regrets having kids with the American socialite, Kim Kardashian, with whom he shares four children - North, 11; Saint, 9; Chicago, 7; and Psalm, 5.

Kanye West wore a Ku Klux Klan (KKK) controversial all-black attire, that symbolises white supremacy, while also wearing a Swastika Necklace, represnting himself as a Nazi. One user on X said, “I would’ve ended the interview right there. An absolute clown.” Another wrote, “To say that I’m disappointed in Kanye West is under the false perception that I knew who he was. This is just sad to see. F**k ya accolades, this is who you always been”

Kanye West wore a ‘White Lives Matter’ outfit in 2022 for the Paris Fashion Week at the Yeezy Season 9 show, along with conservative Candace Owens. While some of his fans supported him, others felt the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement was being mocked. Additonally, Candace shared a screenshot of the story which seemed to be from Kanye’s account that was captioned, “Everyone know that Black Lives Matter was a scam now it's over you're welcome.”

Yeezy, the brand by Kanye West, produced t-shirts with Swastika symbols on them, leading to his brand getting banned from the online stores. However, soon after the product was launched, Kanye stepped out of his house wearing the product and promoted the t-shirts online as well. For a while, only the swastika t-shirts were selling online, furthering his anti semitic thoughts.

Kanye West wore a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat on the popular show, SNL, in September 2018, a symbol to support Donald Trump. “There’s so many times I talked to a white person about this, and they’re like, ‘How can you like Trump, he’s racist?’ Well, if I was concerned about racism, I would have moved out of America a long time ago,” West said in the Pro-Trump speech on SNL that never went live, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bianca Censori, the model and wife of Kanye West, had been topping the headlines as well after her illicit clothing during the Grammys. Furthermore, while promoting her film, Kanye published the posters all over the internet where she had been lying on the floor - bare - where many of his fans did not hesitate to call him out.
