Cannes 2015 1st week: Best dressed celebs on the red carpet

The Cannes Film Festival has always been one of the most awaited events in the field of cinema which brings the biggest celebs from around the globe to the Cannes red carpet. Bollywood biggies like Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor and even Katrina Kaif look forward to this fashion extravaganza to make their presence felt among the Hollywood hotties. While Aishwarya Rai wooed France, once again this year, have a look at who joined her in the best-dressed celeb list.

Aishwarya Rai went green on the Cannes red carpet this year and won all hearts with her beautiful appearance at the screening of Carol. Dazzling in a semi-sheer, emerald green Elie Saab gown, Aishwarya swept her fans off their feet with her mesmerising look. She chose to go bold with the make-up too. Her eyes were done a green similar to her dress, flowing curls fell softly on a side and dark plum shade of lipstick finished off her look. Aishwarya proved that she faces no competition when it comes to outshining the competition from Bollywood babes in Cannes.

Charlize Theron towered over everyone like the rising sun as she descended upon the red carpet in a yellow off-shoulder gown for the premiere of her film, Mad Max: Fury Road. Looking drop-dead gorgeous in the figure-hugging Dior gown with a long trail, Charlize made sure all eyes were glued to her. Walking hand-in-hand with boyfriend, Sean Penn, Charlize was the star of the occasion in the bright ensemble which was accentuated with a side hairdo and minimal but attractive diamond jewellery.

Troy actress, Diane Kruger, emerged as a show-stealer on the Cannes red carpet at the screening of the film, The Sea of Trees. The diva made a racy but beautiful appearance in a powder blue sequined gown with a long trail hanging from the halter neck. Looking divine in loosely pinned back hair and Prada gown, Diane grabbed attention for revealing her sides in the sheer ensemble. Full marks for carrying of the risqué look with confidence.

Making her Cannes debut, Katrina Kaif played it safe on the red carpet. However, the diva’s rust coloured tresses complemented the red mermaid Elie Saab gown that she chose for the Mad Max: Fury Road premiere. Looking absolutely gorgeous in the full-sleeved gown with neatly combed hair parted on the side, Katrina defined elegance.

Chinese actress, Fan Bingbing, cannot be missed out from the best-dressed list as she made stunning appearances in Cannes. The diva made everyone go ‘wow’ when she arrived in a net Marchesa gown with 3-D flowers spread around on the ensemble. Looking extremely beautiful in the costume, that added to her beauty, Fan Bingbing definitely earned many more fans with her floral appearance.

Actress Naomi Watts was the stunner on the red carpet as she sparkled in a silver gown with a plunging neckline. Dressed to kill in the heavily sequined gown with a feathered skirt, Naomi was among the best dressed at the Cannes Film Festival. However, the diva wisely paired the Elie Saab gown from spring couture 2015 runway collection with small earrings but a giant pendant to distract the onlookers from her plunging neckline.

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o arrived like a whiff of fresh air on the Cannes red carpet as she swirled around her mint-green Gucci gown for a while. Looking beautiful in the crepe ensemble with a plunging neckline and flowers adorning her shoulders and waist, Lupita definitely redefined red carpet trends in the bright shade. The actress is known for her fantastic fashion choices and always makes a unique style statement at public events.

Still Alice star, Julianne Moore, was one of the best-dressed divas on the Cannes red carpet in her claret red velvet Givenchy gown that she flaunted for the premiere of the film, Mad Max: Fury Road. Looking divine in the royal one-shoulder gown with a thigh-high slit, Julianne completed the look with matching stilettos and lipstick. The mock-croc detailing did wonders to the whole ensemble.

FashionTV host, Hofit Golan, made her way up, amid several Hollywood biggies, to the best-dressed list with her Jean Fares Couture dress at the Cannes red carpet. The diva cut a pretty picture in the unique beige gown with a black pattern detailing. With her hair neatly tied at the back, Golan kept the look simple but special.
