D-Town has grabbed everyone's attention with many new plots and storylines in the last few years. Each film has its own success and the credit for that goes as much to the multi-talented directors as the actors. It is the directors who focus on every inch of the story and make sure that people will enjoy watching it on the big screen. We have fine directors in Gujarati cinema who are the best at directing films. So, we take a look at the top five filmmakers of D-Town.

The filmmaker gave his biggest box-office opening with his directorial 'Chhello Divas' and went on giving hits continuously with films like 'Karsandas Pay & Use', 'Shu Thayu?' etc. The director also marked his Hindi debut with the film 'Days of Tafree' which was an adaptation of 'Chhello Divas'. Apart from this, Krishnadev Yagnik is coming back with his untitled venture with Gujarati actors Janki Bodiwala, Raunaq Kamdar and Yash Soni.

'Gol Keri' filmmaker Viral Shah is a popular name in the entertainment industry since a long time. He is best known as a writer and director. The director ventured into direction with two of the most popular films titled 'Midnights with Menka' in 2018 and box-office hit 'Gol Keri' in 2020. Viral Shah is writing a new script during this lockdown and is utilising his self-quarantine days being engaged in live chats with friends.

Abhishek Shah has gained a lot of praise for his recent success with 'Hellaro'. The director is himself the writer, director and producer of the film. It was the first-ever 'Gujarati Film' which has won the National Award for 'Best Feature Film' in the history of cinema. Abhishek has been a prominent name working as a casting director to some of the most successful films like 'Bey Yaar', 'Chello Divas', 'Wrong Side Raju', and 'Shu Thayu'.

Filmmaker Sandeep Patel rose to fame with his film 'Love Ni Bhavai'. The plot of the film showcases the love story of Pratik Gandhi, Aarohi Patel and Malhar Thakar which was loved by the audience and it ran successfully in the cinemas. The director is busy with his next untitled love story which he will be back on the floors with soon with renowned actors Aarohi Patel and Malhar Thakar.

Filmmaker Durgesh Tanna who is known for his directorial 'Chhutti Jashe Chhakka', recently tasted success with 'Luv Ni Love Storys' which was also loved by a huge audience. The film had broken box-office records since the first day with good ratings. Durgesh Tanna has not announced his next film, but he will make sure that the announcement takes place soon.
