Abhishek Bachchan is more scared of wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan than mother Jaya Bachchan? Here's what Shweta Bachchan had to say

Veteran Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan often goes viral for her videos fuming and schooling the paparazzi and fans for their misbehaviour. But, ask her son Abhishek, who he 'fears' in the Bachchan household, and it might just be someone else.

A resurfaced clip from an episode of Koffee With Karan, featuring siblings Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda, has left fans in splits over their humour. In the clip, Johar posed a light-hearted question to Abhishek during the rapid-fire round and asked “Who are you more scared of—your wife or your mother?”


While Abhishek responded, “My mother,” his sister Shweta promptly replied, “Wife!”

Not amused by her reply, Abhishek told his sister, “It’s my rapid fire, be quiet,” leaving Karan smiling from ear to ear.

Beyond the humour, Abhishek has, over the years, spoken openly about his relationship with his actress wife. In an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, he acknowledged the vital role Ash plays in their family life. Giving her due credit, he said, “A lot of what I am as an actor post-marriage is due to Aishwarya. She has allowed me to focus on work… saying, ‘You go act, I’ll take care of Aaradhya.’”

Divorce Rumours

Abhishek and Aishwarya battled nasty divorce rumours and other wild speculations around their marriage. In a more recent interview with ETimes, Abhishek opened up about how these rumours really affect him and his family. He admitted, “It’s very upsetting. You’re not me, you don’t live my life.” The actor also said that while in the past, he was able to brush off false stories about himself, with rumours circulating around his family, it hits differently.

Abhishek and Aishwarya tied the knot on April 20, 2007, in a private ceremony at the Bachchan family residence. After three years of married life, the couple welcomed their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan on November 16, 2011.
