Daisy Shah joins Shreyas Talpade as female lead in Palaash Muchhal’s upcoming Mumbai-set thriller - Reports

Music composer and filmmaker Palaash Muchhal is gearing up to direct a Mumbai-based thriller featuring Shreyas Talpade and Daisy Shah in lead roles. Though there has been a lot of buzz surrounding the film, the official title has yet to be revealed. Production on the film is expected to commence soon and this will be the next step for Muchhal as a developing director.Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the casting update on social media on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. Confirming Daisy’s entry as the female lead, he revealed that she will star opposite Shreyas in the upcoming thriller.Quoting his post, he wrote, “DAISY SHAH JOINS SHREYAS TALPADE IN PALASH MUCHHAL'S NEXT FILM... On the auspicious occasion of MahaShivratri, director PalaashMuchhal has signed DaisyShah as the female lead opposite ShreyasTalpade for his upcoming, as-yet-untitled thriller. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, the filming is expected to commence shortly.”The title has not yet been revealed but the film will have a contemporary urban setting in Mumbai. So far, it has been announced that Shreyas Talpade will play an average man who finds himself caught up in something big. Outside of this basic idea, the filmmakers haven't mentioned anything else about the story, characters or release schedule.This project marks Palaash Muchhal’s next directorial outing after ‘Ardh’, featuring Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik, as well as ‘Kaam Chalu Hai’, which starred Rajpal Yadav, Giaa Manek, and Kurangi Nagraj. Both films showcased his inclination toward character-driven narratives.On the personal front, Palaash Muchhal had been in the news for his relationship with Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana. The couple was reportedly set to marry on November 23, 2025, after being together for several years. However, the wedding was later cancelled, with Mandhana addressing the situation publicly.Her statement read, “Over the past few weeks, there has been plenty of speculation around my life and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off. I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace.”
