From marriage to divorce: Here's a timeline of Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jesia's journey

Ex-models Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jesia shocked the entire nation when they announced that they are parting ways last year and have filed for a divorce after 21 years of marriage. The couple, who had been trying to save their relationship for quite some time now finally called it quits last year and went their own ways.

It was reported that the couple had started to grow apart reports of Arjun's closeness with Sussanne Khan. While the 'Paltan' actor denied all the allegations, Mehr's insecurity and Arjun-Sussanne's growing closeness was said to be the main reason why the couple opted to move apart. Arjun's name had also popped up when Sussanne separated with her ex-husband Hrithik Roshan.

The couple had started making headlines as their feuds took an ugly turn. The couple tried to reconcile by keeping away their differences but it all resulted in fights. It was even reported one night the couple had a nasty fight which resulted in Arjun walking out of their home for the first time. The report further suggested that the ex-couple were fighting so loudly that neighbours had threatened to complain to the police.

After several attempts to save their relationship, the two had a mutual decision of ending their marriage and released an official statement announcing their separation last year. Their statement read as "After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth."

Soon after they ended their marriage, Arjun found love once again in South African model Gabriella Demetriades. The couple painted the town red with their romance and never shied away from flaunting their love for one another. Despite being with Gabriella, Arjun shared a cordial relationship with Mehr and she took sportingly accepted his decision to move on in life. Arjun and Gabriella are now parents to a baby boy Arik Rampal.

Today, the couple was granted the divorce by judge Shailaja Sawant under the Special Marriage Act, nearly six months after they had approached the court to dissolve their marriage, by consent, on April 30, 2019, as reported by Mumbai Mirror. The report further suggested that the couple who earlier shared the custody of their daughters Mahikaa and Myra Rampal will now be living with their mother.
