Irrfan Khan passed away today at 54. The news of his demise was shared on Twitter by 'Piku' director Shoojit Sircar. “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute,” he wrote. The actor was last seen in 'Angrezi Medium' with Radhika Madan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. 'Ek Doctor Ki Maut'
Irrfan entered the Bollywood big league in the early 2000s. He was one of India’s most well-known exports to Hollywood. Among the early films, Irrfan earned fame after Tapan Sinha’s 'Ek Doctor Ki Maut' (1990). The film featured Pankaj Kapur as an upright scientist struggling, who was recognised for his groundbreaking research on a leprosy vaccine. Irrfan played the role of a sympathetic science reporter.
'The Namesake'

Irrfan Khan surprised everyone with his 'Piku'. Director Shoojit Sircar offered him the romantic role opposite Deepika Padukone. He played the role of Rana Chaudhary, who runs a cab service in Delhi and that's how he comes in Piku aka Deepika and her father's life. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
