​'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'

Ranveer played Rocky, a lively and stylish Punjabi guy who falls in love with Rani, an intelligent and independent girl. Ranveer added a lot of fun, colour, and emotion to the role. He also showed a soft and emotional side of Rocky, which touched hearts. Also, his fashion and dialogues became a trend in no time.

​'Gully Boy'

Inspired by actual underground rappers Divine and Naezy, in 'Gully Boy,' Ranveer was seen as Murad, a slum kid from Mumbai who dreamt of being a rapper. Ranveer's acting was emotive and motivating. He also sang his own rap songs in the film. His line "Apna Time Aayega" was a success.

In '83, Ranveer Singh portrayed Kapil Dev, the iconic Indian cricket team captain who guided India to the 1983 World Cup victory. Ranveer transformed himself for the character, studying Kapil Dev's behavior and cricketing style. The film celebrated India’s cricketing history with patriotic emotions and Ranveer's acting was intense and extremely realistic in the film.

​'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela'

In this movie, Ranveer enacted the character of Ram, a romantic and passionate boy from a violent family. The story is a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, set in Gujarat. Ram falls in love with Leela (played by Deepika Padukone), but their families are deadly rivals. Ranveer’s chemistry with Deepika was one of the highlights of the film and this role made Ranveer a leading star in Bollywood.

'Band Baaja Baaraat'

This was Ranveer Singh's first film, in which he portrayed Bittoo Sharma, a spontaneous college student from Delhi. He joins hands with Shruti (portrayed by Anushka Sharma) to begin a wedding planning venture. The movie was a romantic comedy with a desi touch, and became a surprise hit. It introduced Ranveer as a promising new talent in Bollywood.

Ranveer played the role of Peshwa Bajirao, a Maratha general and warrior who was not afraid to fight. The film is based on the love life of Bajirao and Mastani, a war princess. He performed superbly as Bajirao in his loyalty, leadership, and emotional turmoil. This role was one of Ranveer's greatest career milestones and his powerful dialogues and royal presence stood out.

Ranveer Singh played the role of Alauddin Khilji, a brutal and dominating Sultan, in 'Padmaavat.' The film is inspired by the tale of Rani Padmavati, a queen renowned for her beauty and bravery. Khilji is infatuated with her and goes to war to capture her. Ranveer was praised for his fearless and bold acting, his look, eyes, and body language made Khilji unforgettable. Ranveer's portrayal of the antagonist was intense and dark and earned high acclaim.
