‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, which had a very good run in theatres, is soon going to have its OTT premiere and, along with that, a new wave of audiences. The film stars Harshvardhan Rane; the film shared a lot of commonality with many films of its generation, with an emotional and musical storyline, and a strong sense of nostalgia that seemed like a throwback to a romantic ideal at least from an earlier time.
Harshvardhan Rane on the film’s second life on OTT
In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Harshvardhan spoke about how digital platforms allow films to rediscover audiences long after their theatrical release. Sharing his belief in the lasting power of good cinema, the actor said, “Good films always merit repeat viewing. People like revisiting films which they have enjoyed because they like reliving the feeling it evoked in them while watching it.”

He also pointed out how OTT bridges the gap for viewers who couldn’t experience the film on the big screen. Emphasising accessibility and reach, Harshvardhan noted, “There might be some people who missed it in theatres, and an OTT release gives them the chance to watch it. When you make a film, you want it to reach a wide audience, and OTT gives it that kind of reach.”
Looking back at the journey
Reflecting on his year and personal growth as an actor, Harshvardhan expressed gratitude and quiet confidence. The actor shared, “I think my personal journey has been one to take pride in.
It is also a reminder to stay humble and rooted.” Acknowledging the support he has received, he added, “I am overwhelmed with the love that I have received, and I hope all my films receive the same acceptance and love.”
Harshvardhan Rane's comments about this film are representative of a greater change in cinema today, where emotional stories are produced on a large scale. Previously, emotional films typically came to an end after the theatrical release, but now, many emotional films are continuing to meet the same need of the audience on digital platforms.
