Coroanvirus outbreak has hugely impacted Bollywood, from film releases being pushed to shoots getting cancelled. B-town is also observing a 21 day lockdown announced by PM Narendra Modi recently. Amidst all this, there were a few Bollywood celebrities who hit headlines because of the Coronavirus outbreak. From Kanika Kapoor testing positive for Covid-19 to Amitabh Bachchan stirring a controversy with his own social media posts – here’s taking a look at B-town celebs who made news during the health scare.

Kanika Kapoor became the first Bollywood celebrity to test positive for Covid-19. Even after three tests, the popular singer has tested positive and continues to undergo treatment at a Lucknow hospital. In an interview Kanika had stated that her room was dusty, while reacting to the same SGPGIMS, director Dr RK Dhiman had said in an official statement, “Kanika Kapoor has been provided the best that is possible in a hospital. She must co-operate as a patient and not throw tantrums of a star. She is being provided gluten-free diet from the hospital kitchen. She has to co-operate with us to help herself.” Three FIRs have also been lodged against the singer.

Amitabh Bachchan has been actively spreading awareness about the novel Coronavirus on social media. The actor had shared a hand picture with a stamp of quarantine, leading to several believing that Amitabh Bachchan had been home quarantined. “Concerned friends called in to give me courage and hope and determined to send me the good health bulletins each hour .. I am well .. the hand picture is of someone else,” the veteran actor had to clarify on his blog. Also, one of his posts about the Janta Curfew read, “An opinion given: 5 PM, 22nd Mar, ‘amavasya’, darkest day of month; virus, bacteria evil force at max potential & power! Clapping shankh vibrations reduce/ destroy virus potency Moon passing to new ‘nakshatra’ Revati. Cumulative vibration betters blood circulation.” Amitabh Bachchan's post met with criticism on social media and Big B later deleted the tweet.

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput hit headlines after they were snapped working out at a gym, despite government’s directive to shut all gyms across the state in wake of Coronavirus outbreak. The couple had been working out for nearly two hours. Mumbai Mirror reported that gym owner Yudhishthir Jaising stated Shahid was a “close friend” and was spending some time with him and friends at the gym. The report also mentioned that Jaising was showing Shahid the right way to use some equipments.

Sara Ali Khan recently shared a video on Instagram walking the busy streets of Varanasi, visiting shops. The actress attended the Ganga aarti with her mother and soon after shot for a clip in the crowded market. Several netizens pointed out that the actress was roaming without a mask amidst the Coronavirus outbreak.
