Ever since the teaser of ‘Ramayana’, featuring
Ranbir Kapoor, was unveiled, it has created a strong buzz online. The reactions have been mixed, with some praising the scale and others raising concerns. Actor
Vindu Dara Singh, who has portrayed Hanuman in mythological shows, also shared his views. His father Dara Singh famously played Hanuman in "Ramayan', making his opinion noteworthy.
Vindu Dara Singh appreciates the teaser but highlights a crucial factor
Vindu described the teaser of ‘Ramayana’ as powerful and visually appealing. At the same time, he pointed out an important aspect that the makers must consider. Speaking about it to AajTak, he said, "The teaser is fantastic. But there's a strict rule here. The Ramayana written by Ramanand Sagar ji is completely embedded in all of our hearts and minds. That Ramayana is historic, number one. If this film matches that, then the film will be a superhit. It will be a record-breaking hit."
He further warned that too many creative changes could lead to rejection from the audience. Stressing on staying close to the original narrative, Vindu said, "If the new Ramayan is made with too much freedom, people will reject it. If they try to change anything, like making them (the demons) look more dangerous, or if they overdo it, people will not accept it." His statement reflects the deep emotional connect audiences have with the classic version.
Vindu Dara Singh's praise for the visuals of 'Ramayana'
While sharing his concerns, Vindu also acknowledged the film’s visual strength. He credited producer Namit Malhotra for the impressive scale and effects. He said, "Namit Malhotra knows how to create stunning visuals. The film's special effects are superb. But if they don't follow Sagar Sahab's Ramayan, they will be in big trouble."
Cast of ‘Ramayana’
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Ramayana’ features Sai Pallavi as Sita and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, with reports suggesting Raghav Juyal in a significant role. Backed by Namit Malhotra, the film’s music is composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The visuals are crafted by DNEG, known for their work on global blockbusters.
‘Ramayana’ is planned as a two-part cinematic saga. The first installment is slated for a Diwali release this year, while the second part is expected to arrive during the same festive period in 2027. Despite the mixed reactions to the teaser, the film continues to remain one of the most anticipated mythological projects in Indian cinema.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
