5 Dialogues from ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ that will make you nostalgic!

Not only did Sanjay Dutt starrer ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ marks the directorial debut of one of India’s best filmmakers Rajkumar Hirani, it also went on to become one of Bollywood’s cult films. No one better than Sanju baba could have pulled off the character of Munna Bhai, a character that has somehow become synonymous with the actor.

December 19th marks the 14th Anniversary of ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ and on the occasion, we give you a rundown of five unforgettable dialogues from the film! Bole Toh...

Rani toh papa ni

The film has many moments where the characters have been shown playing Carrom. It also forms a very important part of one of the plots of the film surrounding doctor Rustom’s father. The excitement and curiosity that is built up just to see if the striker hits the peg and will it go into the pocket are really commendable.

This where “Rani toh papa ni” gained popularity. The dialogue was uttered by whoever was going to play the next shot. And when Rustom’s father says it before his turn, the scene itself became one of the best scenes from the movie.

Life mein jab time kam rehta hai na double jeene ka, double

The film not only had humour but also motivational dialogues that were food for thought. Especially, scenes where Munna bonds with Anand Bhai who has been declared brain dead years ago. Munna motivates him to regain his senses and live life to the fullest by saying, “Life mein jab time kam rehta hai na double jeene ka, double.”

Carrom ramwanu, juice peevanu, majja ni life

Carrom related scenes in the movie were one of the most enjoyed by the not just the audiences but also the actors onscreen. “Carrom ramwanu, juice peevanu, majja ni life” was uttered by Rustom’s dad when he plays Carrom with Munna and wins it. By that dialogue he meant, play carrom, have juice and enjoy your life.

Do-sau-che type ka sirf haddi hai ... todhne ke time apun log sochte they kya

It is most unlikely for a goon to join a medical college and study medicine. He who kills/ injures people can possibly not know how to save lives. The irony in the film was what won our hearts. And we must admit that Circuit’s (Arshad Warsi) perfect comic timing was a cherry on the cake. Munna shares with Circuit what all he’s been taught in the lectures and says, “Do-sau-che type ka sirf haddi hai ... todhne ke time apun log sochte they kya”.

Aye Mamu ... jadoo ki jhappi de daal aur baat khatam

‘Jadoo ki jhappi’ was not just a dialogue but became a trend after the movie hit the theatres. This dialogue has stayed with us till date. Hugs are the answer to everything. They can calm an angry soul and avoid a tussle. Munna kept giving ‘Jadoo ki jhappi’ to everyone spreading smiles around him. He even gave a hug to the sweeper by saying, “Aye Mamu ... jadoo ki jhappi de daal aur baat khatam”. This left him in tears.

A good hearted goon like Sanjay Dutt taught us that life is short and must be lived to the fullest. When you want to make someone feel better, just give them a tight “Jaadu Ki Jhappi”

Munna Bhai will stay with us forever!
