Paresh Rawal's epic one liners we can never forget

Paresh Rawal is an undisputed king of comedy and can make his fans laugh even with his simple one-liners. The actor, with a unique style of dialogue delivery, has a huge fan following across all ages. The Padma Shri holder has a long list of notable performances to his credit in films like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ ‘Nayak’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ that make him an irreplaceable figure in the film industry. On the occasion of his birthday, let’s look back and have a laugh over some of his best one liners which continue to be popular among his fans even today.

Baburao Ganpatrao Apte as his best

Paresh Rawal is known for his outstanding role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte aka Babu bhaiya in ‘Hera Pheri’ which went on to become a super hit and most of the credit goes for the comic timing of the actors including Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. His dialogue, “Utha le re baba, utha le ... mereko nahi re, in dono ko utha le” referring to Akshay and Sunil was one of the many bindaas one-liners mouthed by Paresh Rawal.

Paresh Rawal as businessman Radheshyam Tiwari in 'Hungama'

Paresh Rawal’s funny dialogue in the comedy film ‘Hungama’ that “Kauva kitna bhi washing machine mein naha le ... bagula nahi banta” left the moviegoers in splits. The actor, who is known for his comic timing, added his own mannerisms to the laugh riot which ran high on a complicated story with several hilarious moments. While it was every bit funny, it did teach a little lesson about life.

Paresh Rawal as the visually impaired Somnath in ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’

Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Mukherjee played a blind couple in comedy multi-starrer ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’. Giving a piece of his comic skills, Paresh says to his wife, “Challis saal ki shaadi shuda zindagi ke baad bhaagwaan ... pati patni ko sirf goli maar sakta hai ... seetti nahi” (after 40 years of marriage, a husband can only shoot his wife, not whistle for her). Well, those who agree with the statement may have a hard time at home. This advice of Paresh Rawal is not supposed to be taken seriously.

Paresh Rawal's 'Hera Pheri' act

Paresh Rawal came up with a unique idea of having better mornings in the film ‘Hera Pheri’. The actor who played Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the film shared that singing is the secret to answering the call of nature on time. Paresh plays a garage owner in the film and advises Sunil, who plays his paying guest, to sing while answering nature’s call because the door of the loo didn’t have a lock! While Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Piku’ zeroed in on constipation, he could have easily picked up Paresh’s secret mantra on the same.

Paresh Rawal's OMG moment

In times of extreme religious intolerance, Paresh Rawal’s statement from the film ‘OMG - Oh My God!’ can come handy. The actor, who challenged God in the film, said that where there is religion, there is no place for the truth, and where there is truth, there is no need for religion. The film which was a big success dared to question the popular religious beliefs and was hailed by the moviegoers and the critics alike.
