Darshan: Top five movies of the superstar you should not miss

Darshan Thoogudeep is aptly known as the Challenging Star in Kannada film industry. Darshan is known for his mass and class actions in the movies. He has played wide varied of roles in his career. Son of a famous Kannada villain by the name Thoogudeep, Darshan entered the industry as a young boy and is today a superstar in Kannada film industry. Today, as the actor turns a year older, here we give you a rundown of a few best movies of the actor that you simply cannot miss watching.

‘Majestic’

‘Majestic’ marks the first movie of Darshan where he played a lead role. The movie was directed by PN Satya. It featured Darshan Rekha, Jai Jagadish, and Harish Roy in pivotal roles. Darshan has given his best for the movie, where he played a role of an orphan kid who went on to become a gangster in the city. In the end, the character tries to lead the normal life however the society doesn’t accept him and he dies.

‘Namma Preethiya Ramu’

‘Namma Preethiya Ramu’ is a tragedy and experimental movie. The movie had two directors Sanjay and Vijay. This is a remake of Malayalam movie ‘Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum’ and it went on to become a super hit movie in Kannada. Darshan and Navya Natarajan played the lead roles in the movie. The movie was well received by the audience and the actor too pulled off a challenging role of a blind person in the film. Ilaiyaraaja has composed music for the movie.

‘Anatharu’

Darshan and Upendra have their own respective set of talents. Challenging star Darshan and Real star Upendra shared the screen for the first time in ‘Anatharu’ in 2007. Darshan and Upendra played the role of friends. Darshan and Upendra undoubtedly gave their best to this movie.

‘Sarathi’

‘Sarathi’ is one of the major movies in the career of Darshan. This movie has been directed by his brother Dinakar Tugudeep. Deepa Sannidhi, Sarath Kumar, Rangayana Raghu and Sharath Lohitashwa have played pivotal roles in the film. The makers reportedly took inspiration from Hollywood movie ‘Lion King’. Sarathi went off to become of the super hit movie in Sandalwood. The movie is based on an auto-rickshaw driver who falls in love with a girl. When the girl was taken to her village, he goes to find her and comes to know that he is a single son of a rich family who ruled over for ages. When he comes to know he was taken away from the family after his father's death, he goes on to take his revenge.

‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’

Darshan, for the first time, played a historical role in his career in ‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’. ‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna' is a historical movie based on freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna who was a soldier in Kittur Rani Chennamma dynasty in 1831. This movie is directed by Naganna. Darshan, Nikita, and Jayprada have played important roles in the movie. Sangolli Rayanna was known for his bravery. The British army had cunningly captured Sangolli Rayanna and hanged him in public. Yashovardhan and Hari Krishna have composed great music to fill the patriotism in the movie.
