Did you know that these Bollywood actors have also acted in Kannada films?

In the world of entertainment, regional boundaries are fast vanishing as artists are not restricting themselves to any particular film industry. Just like Sandalwood stars are featuring in movies made in other regional languages, stars from different film industries are making appearances in the Kannada film industry as well. Many stars from Telugu and Tamil industries have acted in Kannada films, but it's not very often that you find a Bollywood actress being cast in a Kannada movie. So, let's take a look at those Bollywood stars who chose to act in Kannada movies for the love of the art.

​Prithviraj Kapoor in 'Sakshatkara'

Bollywood superstar Prithviraj Kapoor starred in the 1971 epic movie 'Sakshatkara'. Kapoor played the role of Dr. Rajkumar's father in the movie. Prithviraj Kapoor is the first actor from Bollywood to have appeared in a Kannada film.

​Anil Kapoor in 'Pallavi Anu Pallavi'

'Pallavi Anu Pallavi' was the first movie directed by Mani Ratnam which released in 1981. Bollywood star Anil Kapoor played the lead role in this movie but never appeared in any other Kannada movie again. Anil Kapoor played the role of a young lover in the film.

​Akshay in 'Vishnu Vijaya'

Akshay Kumar starred opposite Vishnuvardhan in the 1993 movie 'Vishnu Vijaya'. It was the Kannada remake of the Hindi film ‘Ashaant’. More than Hindi, the Kannada version became a huge hit. It is the only Kannada movie that Akshay Kumar ever acted in. Vishnuvardhan and Akshay Kumar played cops in this movie, and fought against gangsters to save the country.

​Jackie Shroff in 'C/O Footpath'

Jackie Shroff made a cameo appearance in the Kannada movie 'C/O Footpath', starring and directed by Master Kishan. The movie released in 2006, and Jackie played the role of a politician in the movie.

​Vivek Oberoi in 'Rustum'

Vivek Oberoi played the lead role in the 2019 movie 'Rustum' along with Hatrick Hero Shivrajkumar. Vivek made his Sandalwood debut as a police officer in this film.

Bollywood star Sunil Shetty made his south debut in Sandalwood with the movie 'Pailwan' starring Kicch Sudeep. He played the role of Sudeep's father in this 2019 movie. Not to anyone’s surprise, Sunil’s acting mesmerised the audience.
