Kannada Star Kichcha Sudeep’s latest action thriller ‘Mark’ has been performing decently at the box office. The film was released on Christmas and has been collecting good numbers. However, as the weekdays hit, the film’s collections dropped. Latest reports suggest the movie made Rs 69 lakh on Wednesday.
As per trade analyst Sacnilk, the film had a solid opening as it collected over Rs 8.6 crore. It later collected Rs 3.2 crore on Friday and Saturday each. On Sunday, the film added Rs 3.5 crore. Later, during the weekdays, the movie minted Rs 1.15 crore on Monday and also added Rs 90 lakh on Tuesday. Lastly, on Wednesday, the movie collected Rs 69 lakh as per the early estimates. This makes the film’s total collection Rs 21.14 crore.
Theatrical occupancy of 'Mark'
Speaking of the film’s theatrical attendance, on Wednesday, the movie recorded an overall 16.03% Kannada occupancy. In the morning, the film recorded 9.43%, which later increased to 16.81%. In the evening, the show's occupancy further increased to 19.74%. Later, the night shows completed the day with 18.14%.
About ‘Mark’
Directed by Vijay Karthikeyaa, the film features Kichcha Sudeep playing the role of a suspended cop. He is in a time rush and is investigating the mysterious kidnapping of 18 children. It includes uncovering a drug nexus, political conspiracy and gang rivalries in Mangaluru. Kichcha Sudeep stars alongside Naveen Chandra as villain Bhadra, Shine Tom Chacko as politician Adikeshava, and others like Yogi Babu, Roshini Prakash, and Archana Kottige.
The initial social media reaction for ‘Mark’ has been largely gaining love from the fans for Kichcha Sudeep’s screen presence, action sequences and largely due to its intro sequence. The film’s music, composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, also got applause. However, some fans also criticised the film for its routine storyline similar to his previous release, ‘Max’.
