‘Devara: Part 1’ Kerala box office collections day 1: Jr NTR’s action flick mints Rs 65 lakhs
The Jr NTR starrer is seeing a downward momentum in its collections in Kerala as the action flick has only managed to mint Rs 65 lakhs at the Kerala box office.
According to the Sacnilk website, ‘Devara: Part 1’ has only collected Rs 65 lakhs as Malayalam Net box office collections within 2 days. The movie started on a high note at the KBO with Rs 40 lakhs on the opening day which was further reduced by 15 lakhs on the second day as it minted only Rs 25 lakhs on day 2 at KBO.
The film hit the big screens on September 27 and was received with mostly mediocre reviews from the audiences. Jr NTR’s introduction sequence, which surprisingly seemed to be a rip-off from Vijay’s introduction sequence from ‘Sura’, is receiving many trolls from the audiences.
Coming to the Telugu market, the movie has minted a whopping Rs 100.8 crores within 2 days, but looking at the day-wise collection, it is surely underwhelming. On day one the movie minted Rs 73.25 crores and on day 2 we can see a huge difference as it has only managed to mint Rs 27.55 crores.
ETimes rated ‘Devara: Part 1’ 3.0 out 5 and our review read, “The cliffhanger, intended to build anticipation for Devara: Part 2, feels forced, lacking the impact seen in other major cinematic sagas. The scene evokes memories of the iconic moment in Baahubali: Part 1, leaving audiences with the question, “Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?” However, in Devara, this moment doesn't resonate as strongly while it attempts to leave a similar sense of intrigue."
