Happy Birthday, Vineeth: 5 must-watch movies of the popular South star

Vineeth is a multi-talented artist, from his ace acts in front of the camera to showing off his dance skills and even dubbing for his projects. Starting his career in 1985, Vineeth turned popular with his second movie, 'Nakhakshathangal'. Since then, the actor has appeared in several Tamil, Telugu and Bollywood movies. As Vineeth celebrates his birthday today, here’s lauding his acting talent with five applause-worthy performances:

2/6

Nakhakshathangal

Helmed by Hariharan, this was a breakthrough movie for Vineeth. Scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair, 'Nakhakshathangal' also featured Monisha in the lead role. Vineeth played Ramu, a teenage boy who lives with his uncle. Ramu elopes from his uncle's home, with the hope of meeting his lady love. The movie progresses as Ramu meets the girl of his dreams Gowri but the situation involves a love triangle too. 'Nakhakshathangal' earned Monisha a National Award for her performance.

3/6

Parinayam

Another remarkable movie from filmmaker Hariharan, which featured Vineeth in the role of a dancer. Even though Vineeth wasn't playing the lead character, his performance in the movie received a lot of praise. He played the role of Madhavan, a Kathakali dancer. His proficiency in dance helped him ace the character perfectly.

4/6

Kabooliwala

Vineeth’s performance of Munna in this film was much appreciated, even when the film did not receive any critical acclaim. ‘Kabooliwala’ speaks about a couple whose son is lost and the leader of a circus company takes him under his care and raises him as his own son, Munna. Helmed by the super hit director duo Siddique-Lal, the movie also spoke about Munna's love interest.

5/6

Darling Darling

Directed by Rajasenan, 'Darling Darling' featured Vineeth playing the role of Kochu Kurup. The plot revolves around a love triangle and Vineeth’s onscreen avatar was much-loved by the audience. Actors Dileep and Kavya Madhavan played parallel lead characters in the movie.

6/6

Chemistry

Helmed by Viji Thampi, 'Chemistry' starred Vineeth as an antagonist. Vineeth essayed the role of Alloshy, a school teacher who is a pedophile. The movie featured Alloshy trapping his students by shooting their nude pictures without their consent. Even though he played the villain, Vineeth's performance in the movie was lauded by the audience.
