Sharad Kelkar: Marathi movies of the actor you should not miss

Sharad Kelkar is a known model, actor and producer in both Marathi and B-town. This Maharashtrian actor from Gwalior has also been a former physical trainer. He also has some popular television serials and shows to his credit. He made his film debut in 'Hulchul' and since then he has done many movies in both Hindi and Marathi. Let us take a look at some of his Marathi films that are a must watch.
2/6

'Uttarayan'

Uttarayan is a Marathi film based on Marathi play 'Durgi' by Jaywant Dalvi. This film is the directorial debut of Bipin Nadkarni starring Shivaji Satam and Neena Kulkarni, Sharad Kelkar and others. This movie is an emotionally complex story of Widower 'Raghu' and 'Durgi'. The old age love portrayed by the leads is engaging. Sharad Kelkar has played young 'Raghu' in the film effortlessly. This movie thus deserves a watch.
3/6

'Chinu'

'Chinu' directed by Neelima Lonari featured Sharad Kelkar and Tejaswini Lonari as lead characters. 'Chinu' attempts to grasp sharp differences between the rural and urban lifestyles. 'Chinu' an adivasi girl developed a keen attraction of the urban life. It is her dream to migrate to a city and adopt the lifestyle, thus, she dreams of getting married to a city-bred man. Sharad Kelkar too has done complete justice to the role her played in the movie.
4/6

'A Paying Ghost'

Umesh Kamat and Spruha Joshi starred together as a couple in the Sushrut Bhagwat directorial 'A Paying Ghost'. As the name suggests the film was a horror-comedy. Umesh and Spruha made an adorable couple and pulled off splendid performances.

This unusual concept of a ghost knocking on your door and asking to be a guest did very well in theatres. Though a fictional one, the narrative also makes references to social issues rampant in society, from a ghost’s perspective. Special credits have to be given to the VFX. Sharad Kelkar has a small but important role. All in all, it is a beautiful film with a balanced mix of comedy, romance, tragedy and emotions.
5/6

'Lai Bhaari'

'Lai Bhaari' is a typical Marathi potboiler, directed by Nishikant Kamat. 'Lai Bhaari' is your perfect family entertainer with a dose of action, comedy and drama. Sharad as (Sangram) is worth appreciating. He played a Marathi villain who will induce anger and make you cringe with his actions. The story revolves around the family property issues, and how things get dirty. Riteish Deshmukh’s Marathi acting debut is simply astounding.
6/6

'Rakshas'

'Rakshas', a Marathi fantasy-thriller movie written and directed by Dnyanesh Zoting, saw the first-time pairing of Sharad Kelkar and Sai Tamhankar along with Vijay Maurya, Umesh Jagtap and child actor Rujuta Deshpande. The story is about a filmmaker documenting the protests from a tribal community against a development project goes missing. His wife and young daughter embark on a journey to find him. ‘Raakshas’ explores the unexplored. Shot almost entirely in the jungle, the woods become an integral character in the story. In terms of performances, this film earns brownie points. This movie thus became commercially successful.
