Shruti Marathe: Movies of the actress you should not miss

Shruti Marathe is one of the multitalented and versatile actresses in the Marathi film industry. Being a powerhouse of talent, the star has also bagged projects in the Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada entertainment industries. Before getting reorganization in showbiz, she was doing serials and has been a part of a number of plays. Apart from all this, she has also pursued her passion for theatre. She has given some of her best works in the Marathi film industry and here are a few that you should not miss.

'Bandh Nylon Che'

The Marathi movie 'Bandh Nylon Che' is a content-based film, which showcases the current times of living in a world of a highly competitive market and its tech-savvy generation. Directed by Jatin Wagle and produced by Suji Nair and Sunil Nair, the film tells an emotional tale while also raising valid current issues. The film has Subodh Bhave, Mahesh Manjrekar, Medha Manjrekar and Shruti Marathe in lead roles, while Sanjay Narvekar, Sunil Barve, and Pranjal Parab feature in supporting roles.

'Rama Madhav'

The Mrunal Kulkarni directorial 'Rama Madhav' is taken from the pages of a 17th Century love story, set in the Peshwa era. According to reports, it is the love story of Rama and Madhavrao and important chapters in their life. The film has a magnificent feel, because of its elaborate costumes by Poornima Oak, artwork by Nitin Chandrakant Desai, music by Anand Modak and Jayant Jathar managing the editing. Mrinal Kulkarni has done a wonderful job as a director and above all, the great performances by the star-cast right from Shruti Marathe to veteran Ravindra Mankani make this a must watch.

'Taptapadi'

Director Sachin Naargoje's 'Taptapadi', is set in the backdrop of the Pre Independence period, and the script of the movie is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's life story. It revolves around three characters - Meera (Veena Jamkar), Madhav (Kashyap Parulekar) and Sunanda (Shruti Marathe). Filmmaker Sachin presents the love story of Meera and Madhav, who are rooted in good Maharashtrian family values, culture and traditions of the 1930's. Actress Shruti brilliantly portrays her character adding her heart and soul to her narrative. ‘Taptapadi’ sets the best example of a good period film in Marathi cinema, and has a lasting impact on the audience.

‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’

Marathi film ‘Tujhi Majhi Love Story’ takes off in Mumbai and then proceeds to Goa, to unfold the realities in the lives of two youngsters - Aditi (Shruti Marathe) and Indraneil, alias Neil (Gaurav Ghatnekar). Filmmaker Rushikesh More has done a fantastic job, with this intense love story. By taking on a complex character such as Aditi, Shruti Marathe has succeeded in proving her range as an actor. She has expressed the happiness and attitude of a typical Goan girl very well and in turn, made this film one of her best works.
