Jass Bajwa to play a cop in ‘Doorbeen’

After making his debut in 2017 with ‘Thug Life’, Jass Bajwa is ready to hit the big screen again with the movie ‘Doorbeen’. The reportedly period drama will feature Jass Bajwa as a cop. The actor took to his social media handle to share his look from the movie.

Dressed in the uniform Punjab police, Jass Grewal gave a very intense expression while posing for the camera. It appears that unlike his debut character, his second role has more shades of seriousness. Moreover, this is the first time the actor is essaying the character of a cop and the turbanator look seems to be suiting him.

Slated to release on May 17, ‘Doorbeen’ is being directed by Ishan Chopra. Along with Jass Bajwa, the movie stars Ninja in a pivotal role.

Punjabi stars who rocked in a cop avatar

With Salman Khan as ‘Chulbul Pandey’, Ajay Devgn as ‘Singham’ and soon Ranveer Singh as ‘Simmba’, Bollywood has a lot of stars that simply slay the game when it comes to essaying the role of a cop. Gradually, Pollywood is also catching on the same. In Punjabi cinema also there are stars who have rocked in a policeman avatar and have been lauded for the same. To know more in detail, scroll down:

4/8

Diljit Dosanjh

Do you remember ‘Fateh Singh Takreeban Takreeban Inspector Punjab Police’? This is one of the iconic roles that Diljit Dosanjh essayed. It was Punjabi cinema’s one of the classic romantic comedies ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’ for which he dressed up as a cop. With his on-point comic timing, Diljit Dosanjh tickled the funny bone and till date is appreciated for the respective character. Also, Diljit Dosanjh didn’t limit his cop characters only to Pollywood, even his debut Bollywood movie ‘Udta Punjab’ featured him as a policeman, ‘Sartaaj Singh’. Moreover, he again will be seen in a cop uniform in one of his upcoming Hindi movies ‘Arjun Patiala’.

5/8

Neeru Bajwa

There’s a reason to why Neeru Bajwa is called the Pollywood queen. While other actors only essayed the role of desi policemen, the actress moved a step forward and took up the character of an international cop. The movie ‘Jatt & Juliet 2’, that featured Diljit Dosanjh as ‘Fateh Singh Takreeban Takreeban Inspector Punjab Police’, also starred Neeru Bajwa as officer P Singh, a cop of Vancouver Police Department. The actress excelled in bringing a strict and honest cop on the screen. Her character in the movie talked of discipline, sincerity and complete devotion.

6/8

Binnu Dhillon

Though Binnu Dhillon didn’t get much screen space in the movie ‘Ambarsariya’, his look as a cop in the movie did leave an impact. He played the role of a policeman, who on his patrolling meets Diljit Dosanjh at an eatery and lends ears to the former’s story. Binnu Dhillon nails the cop look with his ripped body, beard and turban. The actor generally doesn’t sport a turban, but for the particular look he did, and it really suited him.

7/8

Daljeet Kalsi

With the movie ‘Jagga Jiunda E’, Punjabi cinema got a new rugged cop played by Daljeet Kalsi. The Punjabi gabru had the correct height and bod that did justice to the sketch of a strong policeman. Released this year, ‘Jagga Jiunda E’ featured Daljeet as an honest DSP, who feared none and fought against the evils selling drugs. Right from strong dialogue delivery to amazing action scenes, Daljeet Kalsi simpled nailed as an hunky police officer.

8/8

Kainaat Arora

Along with Daljeet Kalsi, ‘Jagga Juinda E’ featured another cop ‘Harleen Maan’ or better known as ‘Maan Sahab’. This character was pulled off by Kainaat Arora. Just like Daljeet, she also essayed the role of an honest cop, fighting against the drug mafia poisoning Punjab. As the movie unfolds, the otherwise strong cop Harleen Maan gradually develops a soft corner for Daljeet Kalsi; however, this nowhere hampers her image as the powerful police officer.
