Simmmran Kaur Suri opens up about her upcoming film ‘Full Moon’, says “We conducted extensive research, focusing on even the minutest details” - Exclusive

In a candid conversation with the talented actress Simmran Kaur Suri, we dived deep into the subject of her upcoming Punjabi psychological mystery film 'Full Moon.' During our chat, Simmran offered a glimpse into the intriguing world of this upcoming thriller. She revealed details about her role, the preparation that went behind making the film and much more.

Simmmran Kaur Suri’s ‘Full Moon’ has generated a lot of attention. Sharing about the same Simmran told us, “I have been searching for a character that would be both challenging and vastly different from who I am for quite some time now. From the moment I heard the narration, I was captivated by the story. However, the role was significantly different from my usual self, so I had to put in a lot of effort to become the character and channel my deep emotions.”

“While doing so, I realized that there were some of her traits within me that had never been explored before. The team and I then explored the character, and complexities, delved into her backstory, and ultimately created the persona known as Maya,” she added.

Psychological mystery often requires actors to tap into intense emotions and delve into complex psychological states. Thus, we wanted to know how the actress prepared for her role, both mentally and emotionally. “The process was extremely challenging. Together with my team, we conducted extensive research, focusing on even the minutest details such as how the character walked. I expressed my concern that it would be difficult for me to step out of this character since we were exploring some unsettling emotions,” she said,

“Maya, being a psychology student, understood the psyche of the other characters in front of her. We did many exercises, and I endeavored to live as her during the entire shooting period. It took me some time to become the Maya envisioned by my director, but ultimately, we succeeded,” quoted Simmran.

Speaking about the hardships she had to go through while getting into the skin of the character, Simmran shared, “Despite feeling lost at times, I always try to maintain my composure. Whenever I return from the set, I make sure to engage in activities that help me relax and rejuvenate. One of my favorite things to do is create funny videos. I find that joining a social media platform has been a beneficial move for me in terms of expanding my reach and sharing my creative work with more people. It has also allowed me to experiment with different styles and techniques, which has been a positive experience.”

Last but not least, we wanted to explore the memorable moments that Simmran experienced while filming the thriller, and here’s what the actress said, “Working on a psychological mystery movie brought a unique atmosphere. We had to maintain complete dedication to our roles not just on camera but even off the set. This high level of commitment was challenging but it added to the authenticity of our performances. One incident stood out in particular.”

"During a scene preparation, I was so engrossed in my character that when our makeup artist entered, I instinctively rushed towards him and was about to slam the door shut with great force. Fortunately, I stopped just in time, avoiding a potential accident. This experience taught me the importance of staying in character and the impact it can have both on and off the set, making it a lesson I will never forget,” concluded the actress.
