When the lyrics of ‘Qubool A’ didn’t go down well with a community

The song ‘Qubool A’ from ‘Sufna’ was one of the most loved songs of 2020. It turned heads right after the release, and even recently, was in the news, but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. The use of the word ‘Rasool’ in the song has led to controversy. In Arabic, this word is referred to as the last messenger of Allah, and thus, its use in the song is said to have hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community. Though both Ammy Virk and Jaani released a public apology in the matter and said that they had no idea that the lyrics will be interpreted this way, the rage of the community doesn’t seem to have cooled down.

When pictures from 'Filhaal 2' went viral for all the wrong reasons

The picture of Ammy Virk with the team of ‘Filhaaal 2’ went viral on the internet during the farmers’ protest. The actor was then public trolled for being double-faced, as on one hand he showed his support towards farmers and boycotting Bollywood and on the other, he was seen working with Hindi movie star Akshay Kumar. Ammy cleared the air by sharing a video in which he mentioned that the pictures are old, and the shoot was done way before the farmers’ protest. He was also accused of working with B Praak and Jaani for money, to which he said that both the artists are like brothers to him, and matters of financial gains never come between them. Further, he said that pictures are being made viral because there are people who want to hamper the unity of Punjab, and he requested all not to fall for their trick.
