Thalapathy Vijay’s latest action thriller, 'The Greatest of All Time- GOAT', has become the actor’s eighth film to surpass the Rs 100 crore mark in
Tamil Nadu after a stellar performance during its first four-day weekend. According to Sacnilk, the film, directed by
Venkat Prabhu, raked in an impressive Rs 106 crore in the state.
The film opened strongly on Thursday (September 5), pulling in Rs 29.50 crore, followed by a solid Rs 21.50 crore on Friday. Over the weekend, collections continued to soar, with Saturday bringing in Rs 27 crore and Sunday adding Rs 28 crore to the tally. This marks Vijay’s eighth film to cross the Rs 100 crore milestone in his home state, with 'Mersal' (2017) being the first. Since then, every one of his seven subsequent releases—'Sarkar', 'Bigil', 'Master', 'Beast', 'Varisu', 'Leo', and now 'GOAT'—has achieved this feat.
Globally, 'GOAT' has amassed approximately Rs 281 crore, with Rs 161 crore coming from India and Rs 120 crore from international markets during its first weekend. The film now holds the title of the highest-grossing Tamil movie of the year, nearly doubling the collections of its closest competitor.
