Actor Bharath has spoken openly about the ups and downs in his film career while promoting his upcoming film 'Kaalidas 2.' The actor, who has completed more than two decades in the industry and acted in over 50 films, said his early years in Tamil cinema were filled with success. Movies like 'Boys,' '4 the People,' 'Chellamae,' 'Kadhal,' 'February 14,' 'Pattiyal,' 'Em Magan,' 'Veyil,' and 'Kanden Kadhalai' all received good response from audiences. Bharath said those films helped him gain recognition and build a strong place among young actors in the industry during that period.
Bharath clarifies rumours that action films caused his career dip
Many people believe that Bharath’s career slowdown happened after he started doing more action films. However, the actor explained that the situation was not that simple. “Some say my career went down because I started acting in action films. But that is not completely true,” Bharath said when speaking with Galata. He pointed out that films like 'Pazhani' performed well and were liked by audiences. According to him, he continued to work on several good films after that. But many of those projects did not reach the audience properly because they lacked the right release timing or strong promotion.
Release timing and competition affected several Bharath films
Bharath also shared examples of how external factors affected some of his movies. He said many people still appreciate films like 555 and tell him it was a good film. However, its release happened during a difficult period when Vijay’s 'Thalaivaa' faced release issues, and the producers quickly released '555' at that time. Similarly, his film 'Nepali' received an A certificate and was released alongside 'Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum,' which affected its reach. “Sometimes it is just timing or luck,” he said while explaining how such factors played a role in his career.
Bharath confident about a strong comeback with ‘Kaalidas 2’
Despite the challenges, Bharath said he is still confident about his journey in cinema. The actor admitted that some of the setbacks were also due to mistakes in choosing scripts. “If audiences did not watch some of my films, it is also because I made mistakes in selecting stories,” he said honestly. Bharath added that he continues to stay in the competition and hopes to achieve a strong comeback one day.
Comparing his hopes to a sudden match-winning performance in cricket, he said he wants to deliver a powerful comeback like Sanju Samson. His upcoming film 'Kaalidas 2,' directed by
Sri Senthil, is set to release on April 3. The film also stars actors like Sangeetha, Ajay Karthik, and Bhavani Sre, and fans are hoping it will mark a new phase in Bharath’s career.
