The pandemic has severely affected the movie industry, compared to any other field. The entertainment industry, which was on the recovering path, again got affected due to the spread of the second wave, and theatres were asked to shut across the country. The Tamil Nadu government recently allowed relaxations for theatres to operate with 50% occupancy, and several hit movies have been re-released. Let’s take a look at five movies that will probably hit the big screens as soon as theatres reopen.

Sivakarthikeyan's 'Doctor' would have been released last March if the makers didn't postpone the film due to TN elections. Despite all the crisis, the makers have kept themselves calm and also decided not to release the film directly on OTT. The Nelson Dhilipkumar directorial 'Doctor' is ready for release and we can expect an official announcement regarding the release date soon.

Prabhudeva's psychological thriller 'Bagheera' impressed the fans with the trailer, and it increased the expectations for the film. The 2021 summer release has been delayed for months, and the team is preparing to release the film very soon. The film, which is directed by Adhik Ravichandran, also features Amyra Dastur, Sakshi Agarwal, Janani Iyer, and Gopinath Ravi in crucial roles, and it has music scored by Ganesan Sekar.

Arun Vijay's patriotic drama 'Border' might have been released this Independence day if the relaxation for theatres were announced a few weeks earlier. After turning cop for the first time in Arivazhagan's 'Kuttram', Arun Vijay has stepped in to the shoes of an army officer for the first time in the same director's 'Border'. Regina Cassandra and Stefy Patel play as female leads, while the music is scored by Sam CS.

Late director SP Jananathan's last film 'Laabam' is yet to be released, and the director has completed 90% of the film work before he passed away due to a cardiac arrest. His assistants have developed the film to release, and they have done a sincere job to their guru. Fans are also eager to catch the social drama starring Vijay Sethupathi and Sruthi Haasan, and the earlier released trailer promised a powerful film.
