The year 2020 has been about preservation, conservation and a healthy lifestyle. So it is a no-brainer that terrace gardening and vegetable patches have become huge gamechangers in people's households. And this has been the case with celebrities as well. Let us take a look at a few actresses from the South film industry who have given gardening a try this year.

Samantha Akkineni has been the poster girl for plant nutrition and its goodness this year, often encouraging people to look at the benefits of growing their own greens.
"Gardening is a game changer. Planting a seed can bring change . "Eat Healthy” we hear this far too many times ... but I am telling you "Grow Healthy” is even more simpler ," she said in a post. The actress has also popularised the gardening trend on social media with the #GrowWithMe challenge.

Sameera Reddy has been spending the indoor time during the pandemic by cooking, baking, playing with her kids and spending time at her vegetable patch in Goa. "We have a small patch where we try and grow some vegetables and I cannot tell you how fulfilling it is to pluck your own produce. Being a Mumbai girl I guess I never experienced this and it’s such a great activity for kids ," she said in a post.

After having been nominated by Samantha, Rakul Singh took up the #GrowWithMe challenge and flaunted her gardening space on Instagram. "Its such a lovely experience to watch these seeds pop out and then grow into food for our nourishment. It’s said When you grow your food it adapts according to your individual body needs. Let’s connect with nature , with ourselves," the actress said.

Sanchana Natarajan often posts about her love for vegetable gardening at her house, under the #GrowWithMe challenge. "These babies are going to be all grown up in few weeks and I will make sure I record this journey through every step for you all. So excited to grow my own greens," she said in a post about starting her gardening journey.

Apart from baking, there is one other hobby that actress Andrea has picked up this year. The 'Vada Chennai' actress takes pleasure in growing her own veggies in her garden.
If someone had told me at the start of 2020 that I would learn to cook & bake & also grow my own veggies on my terrace, I would’ve laughed in their face. But here I am, cooking & baking & so proud of my tiny little terrace garden yield," she said in a post, flaunting her garden yield.
