'Mahaan'

Chiyaan Vikram is coming together with his son Dhruv through 'Mahaan', and it's going to be an action drama from the father and son duo. The Karthik Subbaraj directorial also has several popular faces, and the film has always been high on expectation. But the makers have disappointed the fans by opting for a direct OTT release, lowering the theatrical celebration that was planned to welcome the father and son duo.

Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' was one of the films that initiated the direct OTT release when filmmakers were worried about a ready film during the lockdown. 'Soorarai Pottru' was released as a 2020 Diwali special directly on an OTT platform, and the film received massive reviews. However, the majority of the fans were upset with the decision as the film had all elements to celebrate the release in a big way on big screens.
