Nayanthara's wedding documentary faces trouble again, 'Chandramukhi' makers seek Rs 5 crore compensation, next hearing on Oct 6 - Report
The Madras High Court has once again drawn attention to the case related to a documentary film starring actress Nayanthara. It has been alleged that footage from the film 'Chandramukhi' was used in the documentary without permission. According to Nakkheeran, AP International, which owns the copyright of the film, filed a lawsuit, demanding that the footage be removed from Nayanthara's wedding documentary and compensation of Rs 5 crore. Furthermore, the petition emphasized that despite prior notification regarding the footage used without permission, no action was taken.
In this case, Dark Studio, the company that produced Nayanthara's wedding documentary, explained its side of the story. They said that discussions are underway regarding the use of 'Chandramukhi' footage. But the petitioner argued that no negotiations had taken place with us and that there was no progress in the case because the makers of the documentary had not yet filed a response.
The case was heard before Judge Senthilkumar. Following a hearing of arguments from both the parties, the presiding judge noted that a response had not yet been filed in the case. Therefore, he ordered Dark Studio be given time until October 6 to submit its response. Furthermore, the hearing has been adjourned until the said date.
Earlier, actor Dhanush had previously filed a lawsuit alleging that 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' footage was used without permission in the Nayanthara documentary. In such a situation, the 'Chandramukhi' footage has also sparked controversy. The latest court order has forced the documentary makers to clarify their legal position. The next stage of the hearing is now scheduled to take place after October 6. Meanwhile, Nayanthara was last seen in 'Test'.
