Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to perform together for Nadigar Sangam

Screen legends Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are all set to appear together again! This time, the two actors will be sharing the stage for a play that will be part of a fundraiser event conducted to raise funds for the construction of the new Nadigar Sangam building. On Sunday, at the 68th general body meeting of the South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA), actor Karthi, its treasurer, revealed that Rajinikanth had promised him that he would act in a play with Kamal Haasan. Rajini and Kamal have worked together in 21 films and last shared screen space in the Hindi film Geraftaar, in 1985!

The grand event will also see performances from several Tamil artistes, Karthi added.

Lifetime Achievement Award for Delhi Ganesh, VijayakumariAt the meeting, veteran actors Delhi Ganesh and CR Vijayakumari were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Upon receiving the honour, Vijayakumari said, “The previous members of the actors' association failed to accord me the respect I rightfully deserved. In contrast, the current members, whom I regard as my own children, visited my home and demonstrated their affection for me.”

Rohini stresses on support system for womenRohini, who heads the Gender Sensitisation & Internal Complaints Committee of Nadigar Sangam, which has proposed a five-year ban for those whose sexual misconduct allegations are legally proven, stated, “Our aim is to empower and assist victims in bravely coming forward to report their experiences.”
