The bookings for this film, which will be released on August 14, began on August 8, and tickets were sold out in major cities in Tamil Nadu within a few hours. The worldwide booking collection has reportedly crossed Rs. 50 crore with less than 24 hours to go for the film's release, and the pan-Indian drama is likely to earn over Rs. 150 crore on the opening day. Produced on a whopping budget, the film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and stars Aamir Khan, Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, and many others.

Box office set for record-breaking opening amid ‘War 2’ clash

Although director Lokesh Kanagaraj has clarified that the film will not be part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), he has said that there will be many surprising and shocking elements. Trade experts are confident that box office collections will break records ahead of the Indian Independence Day on August 15 and the long weekend that follows. However, with the Hrithik Roshan-Junior NTR starrer 'War 2' releasing on the same day, a clash at the box office is inevitable. But most are confident that 'Coolie' will dominate in South India.
